Kathleen Bobbitt "I have wanted to be a photographer since I was three years old and first saw an image appear in the water-filled tray in my uncle's darkroom. When my youngest child graduated high school I decided it was time for me to follow my dream and began to read and learn as much as possible on my own. After years of trying to learn photography on my own I heard about Hallmark Institute of Photography. I was given the opportunity to attend the best photography school in North America, and now I have realized my life's dream of becoming a skilled photographer. Hallmark Institute of Photography has not only provided the training necessary to create beautiful images, but through its talented staff and faculty it provided the training needed to operate a successful business, and instilled in me the confidence to follow my dream. Returning to school as the eldest member of the class was challenging, but I would do it again without hesitation. The friends I have made and memories we created will always be with me. "

Mary Frances Burgio "I have always believed in that you only live once, so do what you love. Before Hallmark it seemed as though I was giving everyone else this advice and not taking it myself. After many unhappy sleepless nights cramming for psychology and statistic exams, I decided to finally take my own advice and do what I love: Photography.

I knew I could only follow my dreams under the best educational care while using the best equipment and technology. Attending Hallmark was the best decision I have ever made. You not only learn the technical aspects of photography, but you also learn the business side of it which has helped me begin my own wedding and portrait business with confidence.

The knowledge and relationships you gain from the faculty, peers and staff are so genuine that it far exceeds the 10 months, so it's as if your education never ends. To me that is so important: Life is about learning and growing and being happy. "

My passion for photography brought me here and Hallmark was the only school in the world that would make me travel across the continent to learn more about photography. It is amazing how the Hallmark program can make your photography improve in only 10 months, something that would take years somewhere else. It is not easy, you have to work hard, but it is still worth more than you ever thought.

I came to Hallmark looking for a photography program and it was more than I could have asked. I learned so much at Hallmark that I can't wait to start to put everything into practice. Now I have a strong portfolio and I'm prepared for the business. "

I was in the lucky position of being able to choose any school in any country and after extensive research decided to visit Hallmark for a few days. This visit confirmed everything I had read and the facilities were truly state of the art.

After sitting in on some classes and meeting some of the faculty I had no hesitation in relocating with my wife from London (England) to Amherst, Massachusetts for the 10 month course. I had the very highest expectations and have to say that from arrival at orientation, until departing after graduation, Hallmark exceeded every one of them."

The diversity is something that I absolutely adore about Hallmark. The Institute not only has the best equipment, software, and instructors around, but it has individuals who care and are with you every step of the way. None of this would have been conceivable before attending Hallmark. I am now capable of turning my passion into a business that I run on my time clock, successfully. Loretta McGrath "Starting your life over in your 40s has its challenges and fears. After 25 years in the accounting field, I didn't know what to expect from Hallmark when I decided to attend. All I could do is believe that what they advertised is what they would deliver. Although the intense 10 month program came with many challenges, tears and frustrations (I am not going to blow smoke; this is a hard, intense program), when my Hallmark journey was over, I realized it was the best step I could have taken to advance my career of becoming a new photographer and business owner.

The things they don't advertise are the things that mean the most; like the support and understanding from the instructors when you don't think you can go another day trying to cram all the information into your head and you just want to quit; The excitement returned by the staff when they know you have been successful in an assignment after working so hard on it; and the dedication of all the employees to help the students understand and complete the Hallmark educational process.

I am proud to be a Hallmark graduate. The education and experience will remain with me the rest of my life as well and my photography and business skills are well beyond any original expectations."

Bess Marine "Finally! A school that is what they advertise! I came to Hallmark out of desperation. I went to three other well respected colleges and universities only to find that their programs were not all that I had been told they were. A friend had told me about Hallmark, and had I not heard it from a friend I probably never would have believed what they do here. It just seemed too good to be true. I came to Hallmark with virtually no knowledge of any technical aspect of photography, I didn't even know what an f-stop was. The incredible staff here has not only taught me the ins and outs of medium format, DSLR, large format, and so much more but they also taught me the most important thing of all; the business. It's amazing how much I've learned here. These past ten months have changed my life. I got to work for the two photographers I have been looking up to for the past 5 years thanks to Hallmark. In addition, Hallmark's reputation made it very easy for me to get a job. Not only am I working 40 hours a week, I also have a job offer from my favorite photographer, and images being published in The Standard Quarterly this July. None of this would have been possible without the guidance and help of the Hallmark staff. They truly go above and beyond the call of duty, the facilities here are envied by many (all the guest speakers say so), and the alumni have been incredibly helpful. I feel by enrolling at Hallmark I have become part of a large family that I hope to be giving back to for a long time. Thanks Hallmark."
